Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to support existing product lifecycle management and new product introduction (NPI) projects. The role involves delivering robust, manufacturable designs across low to high-volume production while contributing to continuous improvement and cross-functional engineering activity.

Job Responsibilities

* Support existing product lifecycle, including cost reduction and issue resolution

* Contribute to NPI and client projects with innovative design solutions

* Produce detailed designs, drawings (GA’s), BOMs, and technical documentation

* Design for manufacture (DfM) with focus on cost, performance, and scalability

* Support validation activities including calculations and engineering reports

* Work with cross-functional teams (production, operations, quality)

* Support test equipment design and product validation

* Carry out metrology and CMM inspection of components

* Contribute to continuous improvement and change management activities

Skill Required

* Strong SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM experience

* Experience with castings, injection mouldings, machined parts, and assemblies

* Understanding of manufacturing processes and design best practice

* Knowledge of metrology and CMM inspection

* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
