We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading UK Facilities Management provider, supporting a prestigious Pharmaceutical contract in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a highly regulated, critical environment where reliability, compliance, and operational excellence are essential to site performance.
πŸ”§ What you’ll be doing:
πŸ› οΈ Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services systems
🌬️ Maintaining and repairing HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, pressurised systems, and associated mechanical plant
πŸ” Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective root cause analysis to minimise downtime
βš™οΈ Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical mechanical infrastructure
πŸ“‹ Completing maintenance records, compliance documentation, and reports accurately
🦺 Working in line with GMP standards, health & safety regulations, and site procedures
πŸ“ˆ Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system reliability and energy efficiency
🀝 Working closely with clients, stakeholders, subcontractors, and the wider engineering team to maintain service excellence
πŸ“Š Supporting contractual KPIs and service delivery standards
βœ… Maintaining high standards of workmanship, professionalism, and customer service at all times
πŸ‘·‍♂️ What we’re looking for:
πŸ”Ή Mechanical Engineering qualification (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, Apprenticeship, or equivalent)
πŸ”Ή Experience within Facilities Management, Pharmaceutical, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Life Sciences, or other regulated environments
πŸ”Ή Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, pipework, pressurised systems, and mechanical building services
πŸ”Ή Proven experience delivering both planned and reactive maintenance
πŸ”Ή Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities
πŸ”Ή Strong understanding of health & safety and statutory compliance requirements
πŸ”Ή Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, critical environment
πŸ”Ή Good communication and stakeholder management skills
πŸ”Ή Proactive and customer-focused approach to service delivery
⭐ Desirable:
βœ… Experience working within GMP-controlled environments
βœ… Knowledge of pharmaceutical compliance requirements
βœ… Experience using CAFM systems
βœ… IOSH or equivalent health & safety qualification
βœ… Experience supporting energy efficiency and continuous improvement projects
βœ… Experience working on critical infrastructure and business-critical systems
