Workshop Mechanical Engineer A well-established marine engineering and ship repair organisation is looking to recruit experienced Mechanical Engineers to join their skilled workforce at their Aberdeen shipyard facility. Due to continued growth and long-term contracts, this is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and stable engineering environment supporting offshore, marine and heavy industrial vessels. The Role Working within a busy dry dock and ship repair yard, the Mechanical Engineer will support mechanical maintenance, repair and installation work across a range of vessels and marine equipment. You will work closely with experienced engineering teams carrying out maintenance, troubleshooting and mechanical repair activities within the shipyard environment. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out mechanical repair and maintenance work on vessels and marine equipment * Support ship repair and overhaul projects within a dry dock environment * Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation * Assist with installation and replacement of mechanical components and systems * Work safely within a heavy engineering and shipyard environment * Collaborate with foremen, supervisors and wider engineering teams Requirements: * Mechanical engineering or heavy engineering experience. * Experience working within shipyards, marine engineering, offshore, fabrication, or similar heavy industrial environments is beneficial * Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding engineering environment * Willingness to work overtime and weekend shifts when required * Strong attitude towards health and safety * Full UK driving licence * Right to work in the UK A formal engineering degree is not required.
