Mechanical Inspector
Purpose:
Deliver mechanical QC inspection coverage across fabrication/installation to ensure compliance to project specs, ITPs, and applicable mechanical codes/standards, with a strong focus on traceable lifetime records.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspect mechanical installation against ITPs including pipework, supports, bolting/torque/tensioning, equipment setting, alignment checks, preservation, cleanliness, tagging, and traceability.
Verify manufacturing and fabrication documentation where applicable such as material certificates, heat numbers, weld maps, inspection reports, punch items, and test certificates.
Support pressure testing readiness through line checks, test boundaries, test pack review, and reinstatement verification.
Manage quality documentation packs ensuring accurate and timely compilation for handover.
Raise and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and corrective actions; verify rework effectiveness; support quality walkdowns.
Job Requirements:
Solid experience in a mechanical QC/inspection role on major construction projects (ideally in nuclear or power sectors).
Strong understanding of quality systems, ITPs, and nuclear-style documentation discipline.
Comfortable working to relevant mechanical standards, which may include pressure systems and welding/bolting best practices, depending on the project.
