Mechanical Project Engineer
We are currently working with a leading MEP contractor who are looking to appoint a Senior Project Engineer (Mechanical) to join their team on a major project based in Barrow-in-Furness. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role on a high-value building services project, supporting delivery from engineering through to handover, while working within a well-established and forward-thinking business. The Role As a Senior Project Engineer, you will support the delivery of mechanical building services packages, ensuring works are engineered to specification, delivered safely and aligned with programme and commercial objectives. Key responsibilities will include: Supporting the safe and efficient delivery of mechanical installations on site Participating in pre-construction and planning activities to drive programme and cost efficiencies Reviewing project scope to ensure full understanding of client requirements Identifying project risks and opportunities, implementing mitigation strategies Ensuring engineering solutions are delivered in line with commercial and financial targets Providing accurate progress updates to the Project Manager and commercial team Managing subcontractors and specialist packages where required Supporting and leading junior team members on site Building strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders Supporting project close-out, commissioning and handover Requirements Proven experience in a Senior Engineer / Project Engineer role within an MEP contractor environment Strong mechanical bias with experience delivering building services installations Track record working on medium to large-scale construction projects Good understanding of programme delivery, commercial awareness and coordination Relevant mechanical qualifications (NVQ / HNC / HND / Degree) Ability to obtain security clearance Package Competitive salary (DOE) Car or car allowance Pension (up to 8% employer contribution) Private medical insurance Flexible benefits package (including dental, gym, travel, etc.) Employee assistance programme (24/7 support) Personal development and progression opportunities Additional support for working away from home
