Astute's Power team are looking to recruit a Mechanical Site Supervisor on a 12-month minimum contract for a project in North London starting immediately.

Key skills

Ensure that all relevant HSEQ requirements are incorporated into area of responsibility and that, in consultation with site management and HSE team, HSE hazards are eliminated or mitigated to the extent practicable.
Ensure that risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are reviewed with regards to HSE requirements and that work is carried out in accordance with the RAMS.
Implement standardized methods to identify complex problems
Support the project team to achieve objectives
Ensure works within area of responsibility are executed in accordance with the contract and conform with project time and budget requirements.
Co-operate with erection contractors and exchanges experience with colleagues responsible for products and other project teams and specialist departments.
Co-ordinate consortium partners, sub-contractors etc.
Progress change requests (technical, time and costs)
Prepare and follow-up deviations and claims and plan and implement the installation testing procedures.
Keep the Site Head Mech informed of all site related activities
Specific knowledge required for roles:
- Pressure Parts: Simple Pressure Vessel Directive 2009/105/EC, 2014/29/EC; and Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC,
2014/68/EC

- Machinery: Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC; ATEX 95 Equipment Directive 94/9EC, 2014/34/EC; and ATEX 137 Workplace
Directive 1999/92/EC (to the extent applicable)
Must have a Mechanical Engineering Degree
Must hold an SSSTS and valid Safety Contractors Certificate or equivalent
Ideally have experience in large heavy industrial projects within Power Generation / EfW.
