Job Title
Mechanical Supervisor
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee mechanical installation, maintenance, and commissioning activities on a large-scale commercial project. The Mechanical Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating site activities, supervising mechanical trades, ensuring works are completed to programme, and maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and workmanship.
The successful Mechanical Supervisor will work closely with the Project Manager, Site Manager, engineers, subcontractors, and other construction disciplines to ensure mechanical works are delivered efficiently and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
*
Supervise and coordinate mechanical installation works across the commercial project.
*
Manage mechanical operatives, subcontractors, and specialist contractors on site.
*
Ensure all mechanical works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
*
Monitor progress against the project programme and report any delays or issues.
*
Coordinate mechanical activities with electrical, structural, architectural, and other construction teams.
*
Review drawings, specifications, and technical information to identify potential issues before installation.
*
Conduct regular quality inspections and ensure defects are identified and rectified promptly.
*
Ensure all works comply with relevant UK regulations, standards, and project requirements.
*
Promote and enforce strong health and safety practices across the mechanical works.
*
Attend site meetings and provide progress updates to senior management.
*
Coordinate deliveries, materials, plant, and equipment required for mechanical installations.
*
Liaise with engineers and subcontractors to resolve technical and installation issues.
*
Maintain accurate site records, progress reports, inspection documentation, and daily activity records.
*
Support testing, commissioning, snagging, and handover activities.
Experience & Qualifications
*
Proven experience working as a Mechanical Supervisor on commercial construction projects.
*
Strong knowledge of mechanical building services, including HVAC
