Mechanical Supervisor
The successful candidate will oversee mechanical and public health installations on site, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard of quality while coordinating site teams and subcontractors.
Key Responsibilities
* Supervising mechanical and public health installations, including domestic water, heating, and drainage systems.
* Overseeing installation of copper, steel, stainless steel, and plastic pipework systems.
* Coordinating installation of valves, pumps, plant room equipment, and associated services.
* Managing and supervising plumbers, pipefitters, and subcontractors on site.
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
* Ensuring works are carried out in line with programme deadlines and quality standards.
* Conducting site inspections, progress reporting, and quality checks.
* Identifying and resolving installation issues or design clashes.
* Ensuring compliance with health & safety regulations and site procedures.
* Maintaining a safe, clean, and organised working environment.
* Liaising with project managers, engineers, and other trades.
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor or Senior Plumber/Pipefitter stepping up.
* Strong background in commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills.
* Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
* Strong knowledge of mechanical and public health systems.
* Ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple trades.
Qualifications Needed
* SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – essential
* Valid CSCS Card (Supervisor level preferred)
* NVQ/City & Guilds in Plumbing/Pipefitting or Mechanical Services
* First Aid (preferred but not essential)
