Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist SEMH school in the Corby area.
The Role:
As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students who face a range of emotional and behavioural challenges. You will work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external professionals to create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where students can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEMH needs
Support pupils in managing emotions, behaviour, and engagement with learning
Assist in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions
Build strong, trusting relationships with students
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
Work collaboratively with teaching staff and safeguarding teams
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people with SEMH, behavioural needs, or mental health challenges
A calm, patient, and resilient approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
A background in education, psychology, youth work, or care is desirable
