The Role
As a Metal Dresser / Finishing Operative, you will play a key role in ensuring all fabricated and machined components are finished to the highest possible standards prior to dispatch or further processing.
Key responsibilities include:
Dressing and finishing metal components to both customer and internal standards
Removing sharp edges, burrs, weld spatter, and surface defects
Using hand tools, grinders, linishers and polishing equipment
Carrying out bright polishing, graining, and satin finishing
Preparing components for painting, coating, or assembly
Conducting visual and dimensional inspections to ensure quality compliance
Working from engineering drawings and job specifications
Supporting production flow and meeting deadlines
Adhering to all health and safety procedures
The Person
Previous experience in metal dressing, fabrication finishing, or a similar role
Experience working with stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium
Competent in the use of hand tools and finishing equipment (e.g. grinders, linishers)
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
