Midday Meal Supervisor – SEN Primary School Streatham Lambeth Special Needs School Temp to Perm £13.69 per hour Job Role Summary: Midday Meal Supervisor Mon – Fri 11:30am – 2:00pm Term time only Lambeth Special Needs School (Streatham) £13.69 per hour Temp to Perm contract On some days, the school may request the successful candidate to start at 9:15am to support with additional classes.An outstanding specialist SEND primary school in Streatham is seeking a proactive, energetic and compassionate Midday Meal Supervisor to join their dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs in a nurturing educational setting. The school supports primary-aged pupils with Autism (ASD) and complex needs and is looking for someone who can make a real difference during both lunchtime and classroom activities. The Role In this position, you will: Supervise children aged 4–11 years during lunchtime Support pupils while eating, including feeding where required Assist with personal care, including feeding and changing Oversee and actively engage pupils in outdoor play Support pupils within the classroom setting — this is not solely a playground/lunch duty role Help manage behaviours that may challenge Follow safeguarding, health & safety procedures within the school environmentYou will work closely with teaching and support staff to ensure pupils are safe, engaged and fully supported throughout the midday period and, on occasion, during morning classroom sessions. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who: Is proactive, energetic and patient Has experience working with children with SEND, particularly Autism Is comfortable supporting with personal care (feeding and changing) Has strong behaviour management skills Understands safeguarding and health & safety within schools Has previous experience as a Midday Mealtime Supervisor (desirable) Has experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant (highly desirable)Compliance Requirements To be considered for this role, candidates must: Provide two employment references covering the last two yearsOR Provide one employment reference and one academic reference from within the last two years Hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update ServiceOR Be willing to apply for a new DBS through the agencyAll successful applicants will be subject to full safeguarding and vetting checks in line with current legislation.
