Apply NowTK Recruitment is currently recruiting experienced MIG Welder/Fabricators on behalf of Thurston Group, an established manufacturer specialising in modular buildings and off-site construction.
This is an opportunity for skilled fabricators to join a busy manufacturing environment, producing structural steel frames and components used in modular building construction.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out MIG/MAG welding on mild and structural steel.
*
Fabricate and assemble structural steel frames, chassis and components.
*
Read and interpret engineering drawings and fabrication specifications.
*
Measure, cut, prepare and fit steel sections accurately.
*
Operate fabrication equipment, including grinders and cutting machinery.
*
Inspect completed welds and assemblies to ensure quality standards are met.
*
Work efficiently to production schedules while following health and safety procedures.
Essential Requirements
*
Previous experience as a MIG Welder/Fabricator.
*
Strong experience working with mild and structural steel.
*
Ability to read and work independently from engineering drawings.
*
Experience fabricating steel frames and assemblies.
*
Good understanding of welding and fabrication techniques.
*
Ability to work accurately in a workshop environment.
Desirable Experience
*
Previous experience in structural steel fabrication.
*
Experience manufacturing modular buildings, steel chassis or similar structures.
*
NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Welding and Fabrication.
*
Overhead crane or forklift experience.
Salary & Benefits
*
£15.00–£16.50 per hour, depending on experience.
*
Full-time working hours.
*
Workshop-based role.
*
