Mixed Animal Veterinarian. P/T or F/T. Eastern Ontario, Canada. From $115k per annum.

What if your next vet role gave you space to breathe, time to live, and work that genuinely reminded you why you became a veterinarian in the first place?

If you became a vet to actually practice good medicine, not rush cases, not chase numbers and not burn out, you’ll feel at home here.

Smiths Falls Veterinary Services is a proudly independent, traditional mixed practice where great medicine, strong values, and genuine quality of life actually coexist. They’re busy and progressive, but never chaotic. Supportive, not pressured. Ambitious, but human. This is rural practice with modern standards and a long-term vision.

They are a privately owned, multi-site practice with three locations, nine veterinarians, five ambulatory units and a close-knit team of around 30 staff. Their culture is built on mentoring, collaboration and sustainability and building careers. New graduates are genuinely supported, and experienced vets are trusted to practice with autonomy and clinical freedom.

The role

They are looking for a Mixed Animal Vet to join the team either full-time or part-time, with flexible scheduling and a start date from May 1st. This is true mixed practice: small animal, large animal, equine, ambulatory and emergency, varied, stimulating work that keeps your skills sharp and your days interesting.

You’ll be fully equipped for ambulatory work, supported by modern diagnostics across all sites, and supported by a team that has your back.

What you can expect

* Salary from $115,000 CAD (full-time)

* 1-in-4 on-call rotation

* Fully equipped vet truck provided

* 3 weeks paid vacation

* Licensing fees, CE allowance and paid CE time covered

* Health benefits package

* Strong mentoring and a genuinely supportive team culture

Why Smiths Falls feels different.

They stand apart because they’re privately owned, committed to staying that way, and focused on long-term quality of care, of careers, and of life. Their facilities include in-house labs, digital radiography, ultrasound at each location, mobile imaging, and a full range of general surgeries. But more than the equipment, it’s the people and the philosophy that make this place different.

Location perks (because life matters too)

You’re based in beautiful Eastern Ontario. Peaceful, rural, and scenic, yet within easy reach of Ottawa, Montreal, Kingston and Toronto. You’re surrounded by cottage country, lakes, forests, provincial parks, and the iconic Rideau Canal system. Offering hiking, canoeing, boating, starlit skies, the full Canadian outdoor experience.

Add in Québec’s culture, food, festivals, and French charm just a short drive away, and you get a lifestyle that feels expansive, rich, and genuinely hard to beat.

So, what’s next?

If you’re looking for a role where your voice matters, your growth is encouraged, and your life outside work is just as important as the care you provide inside the clinic, this could be the move that changes everything.

Forget the polished application; just reach out with whatever version of your CV you have on hand. We want to know the person, not just the paperwork.
