Mobile Heavy Plant Fitter Location: Mobile role covering sites between Teesside and Scunthorpe (accommodation provided where required) Salary: £38,000–£40,000 per annum (depending on experience) + overtime Contract Type: Full-Time, Temporary to Permanent Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm (42 hours per week) Benefits Package * Company van * Tools and all necessary specialist equipment * Company iPad and mobile phone * Accommodation (digs) provided where required * Overtime opportunities * Full support from the wider team Please note: Applicants must be aged 25 or over due to insurance requirements. Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and reliable Mobile Heavy Plant Fitter to join our growing team. This is a field-based position covering multiple customer sites across the Teesside to Scunthorpe region. The successful candidate will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, fault diagnosis and repair of a broad range of heavy plant machinery, ensuring equipment is maintained to the highest safety and performance standards. This role requires a self-motivated individual who is confident working independently while remaining closely connected to the wider operational team. Key Responsibilities * Service, maintain and repair heavy plant machinery including FLTs, MEWPs, tower lights and larger plant equipment * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with company schedules * Attend breakdowns and carry out timely, effective repairs to minimise downtime * Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults * Maintain accurate service records and documentation * Ensure all work is completed in accordance with company procedures and health and safety regulations * Represent the company professionally when working on client sites Requirements Essential * Proven experience as a Heavy Plant Fitter or similar role * Strong all-round knowledge of plant machinery and equipment * Experience working on heavy dumpers, including CAT 771 and 775 models * Experience working with CAT machinery * Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems * Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively * Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail * Full UK driving licence Desirable * Previous experience in a mobile or field-based engineering role
