The Role

As a Multi Skilled Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining and improving plant, equipment, and building services within a manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on, varied position where you'll apply both your electrical and mechanical expertise to ensure operational efficiency and minimise downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out electrical and mechanical maintenance on plant and equipment
Identify, manage, and mitigate risks across onsite equipment
Perform fault finding on a wide range of machinery
Maintain and improve preventative maintenance (PPM) programmes
Work with three-phase systems (up to 440V), motors, drives, and inverters
Maintain hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
Support health & safety compliance and contribute to best practice
Write and review risk assessments, permits, and method statements
Use CAFM systems and mobile devices to plan and complete tasks
Liaise with clients and internal teams to resolve maintenance issues
Deputise for the Shift Leader as required
Work flexibly, including overtime, nights, and weekends when needed

About You

We're looking for a proactive and skilled engineer with a strong background in manufacturing maintenance and a passion for problem-solving.

Essential Skills & Experience

Recognised apprenticeship (or equivalent)
Strong experience in manufacturing/industrial maintenance
Electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, 17th Edition or equivalent)
Mechanical qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent)
Experience working with:
3-phase systems, motors, drives, and inverters
Hydraulic and pneumatic systems
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
PLC diagnostic and repair experience
NVQ Level 2 (Electrical/Mechanical) or equivalent
Ability to supervise contractors and manage permits
Experience writing risk assessments and method statements

Desirable

Working at Height certification
IPAF licence
Authorised Person (AP) qualifications
Experience in heavy engineering environments
