Job Type: 3-Month Contract
Pay Rate: £18.00 per hour

Job Overview

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi Skilled Fitter to join a growing engineering and manufacturing team in Cirencester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong mechanical and electrical assembly background who enjoys building high-quality automation equipment and working from technical drawings.

The successful candidate will play a key role in the assembly, testing, and installation of bespoke automation systems, ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

As a Multi Skilled Fitter, your duties will include:

* Building and assembling mechanical and electro-mechanical automation equipment.

* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and assembly instructions.

* Carrying out testing and inspection of completed assemblies.

* Using a variety of hand and power tools to complete high-quality builds.

* Assembling aluminium framework and mechanical components to precise tolerances.

* Completing production and quality documentation accurately.

* Identifying and reporting any design or manufacturing improvements.

* Working closely with production and engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered on time.

* Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and adhering to all Health & Safety procedures.

* Supporting customer site installations when required.

* Leading installation activities on customer sites where appropriate.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

* Previous experience in a Mechanical Fitter, Multi Skilled Fitter, Automation Assembly, or Machine Build role.

* The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.

* Strong mechanical assembly skills with excellent attention to detail.

* Experience using a range of hand and power tools.

* A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.

* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Good communication skills and a positive attitude.

Desirable

* Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification (HNC/HND or equivalent).

* Completed Mechanical or Multi-Skilled Engineering Apprenticeship.

* Previous experience building automation machinery, special purpose machinery, or production equipment.

* Site installation or commissioning experience.

* Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
