Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias)

As a Maintenance Engineer at our Braintree site, you'll play a vital role in supporting automation systems and general site infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance through a mix of preventative and reactive maintenance. 💼 The Role: You'll be part of a close-knit engineering team maintaining both equipment and facilities within a busy logistics environment. Daily duties will include: Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and fast response to breakdowns PLC fault finding and working with sensors, metal detectors, conveyors, belts, motors, bearings Supporting site automation and mechanical handling systems Monitoring and reporting through the site CMMS system Liaising with and overseeing external contractors Adhering to and enforcing Permit to Work and health & safety protocols Contributing to team discussions and decision-making on efficiency improvements 🛠️ What You'll Need: Time-served apprenticeship and recognised electrical qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, etc.) Experience working in automated or distribution/warehouse environments preferred Competence in: PLC fault finding Conveyors, belts, and drive systems Sensors and metal detectors Hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, gearboxes, and bearings Basic mechanical skills (fitting, fault finding) Comfortable using IT systems and CMMS platforms Good spoken and written English Desirable: knowledge of refrigeration systems, food hygiene, and H&S practices 🎁 What's on Offer: Competitive salary with regular overtime available 20 days holiday + bank holidays Company pension and insurance Career development and ongoing training A supportive, team-oriented work culture Straight day shifts - no nights or weekends
