Apply NowQuestech Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Huddersfield.
Location: Huddersfield, West Yorkshire
Salary: £19–£21 per hour DOE + 10% Shift Allowance
Hours: 38 hours per week
Shifts: Monday to Friday – Rotating Double Days
Job Type: Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
*
Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the site.
*
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults on production machinery.
*
Maintaining bulk handling systems, automated transport equipment and filling machinery.
*
Working with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
*
Responding to breakdowns efficiently to minimise production downtime.
*
Recording maintenance activities using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
*
Supporting continuous improvement projects and root cause analysis.
*
Working closely with production teams to improve machinery reliability and efficiency.
*
Ensuring all maintenance work complies with health and safety regulations.
The Person
*
Apprentice-trained in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
*
Previous experience working as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
*
Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills.
*
Experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics.
*
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
*
18th Edition qualification required for electrically biased engineers.
*
Fabrication and welding experience would be advantageous.
*
Knowledge of PUWER regulations and safe working practices.
*
A proactive, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
Salary & Benefits
*
Hourly Rate: £19–£21 per hour, depending on experience.
*
Shift Allowance: Additional 10%.
*
Working Hours: 38 hours per week.
*
Shift Pattern:
*
Earlies: Monday–Thursday 6am–2pm, Friday 6am–12pm.
*
Afters: Monday–Thursday 2pm–10pm, Friday 12pm–6pm.
*
Permanent position.
