Multimodal Freight & Customs Operator Tyseley Up to £35,000 per annum + benefits Permanent About the Role We are seeking an experienced Multimodal Freight & Customs Operator to join a busy operations team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will coordinate international shipments, manage customs clearances, and support road and warehouse logistics projects. Key Responsibilities Coordinate full door-to-door FCL shipments with overseas agents Arrange vessel bookings and coordinate collection from shippers’ premises Review and manage shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and packing lists Track shipments and maintain accurate customer updates Oversee supplier invoicing, customer billing, and incidental cost tracking Support inbound shipments for a 3PL warehouse project in Germany Prepare UK import and export customs declarations Assist with road freight coordination for European exports and UK imports Maintain operational records, KPI reporting, and shipment visibility across systems Essential Experience in ocean freight forwarding and UK import/export customs declarations Strong organisational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities Comfortable using IT systems and learning new software Desirable Experience with road freight forwarding Exposure to CFSP customs clearance processes Experience with warehouse management systems Scope, CNS, Destin8, e-Customs by Descartes Benefits Competitive salary up to £35,000 per annum Hybrid working (2 days per week from home after probation) Generous annual leave, plus bank holidays and birthday leave Quarterly performance bonus Training and development opportunities Company car scheme Why This Role This is a permanent position in a supportive, growing team where your expertise will make a real impact.
