Neighbourhood Services Manager
£280+ a day | 3 month contract | 5 days on site
Are you an experienced Housing Manager who enjoys being close to the service, supporting your team and making sure residents receive a genuinely good neighbourhood service?
I'm working with a housing organisation looking for an experienced Neighbourhood & Estate Services Manager to come in on an interim basis and lead a frontline team.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone from a strong housing, tenancy or neighbourhood management background who understands what good estate management looks like and, importantly, knows how to get the best out of a team.
The role
You'll be managing a team of 5 Neighbourhood Services Officers, with responsibility for the day-to-day management and standards of estates and communal areas.
Your remit will include:
Leading, supporting and managing a frontline housing team
Ensuring officers are visible and delivering a responsive service to residents
Overseeing estate and communal inspections
Driving standards across cleaning, grounds maintenance, waste and communal areas
Ensuring communal repairs and health & safety issues are identified and actioned
Managing estate services contractors and challenging poor performance
Supporting the team with more complex resident and estate issues
Improving performance, behaviours and consistency across the service
Supporting the mobilisation of a new estate services contract
Who are we looking for?
We need someone who has managed housing teams before and understands the realities of delivering a busy frontline service.
You'll ideally bring:
Strong housing management knowledge, particularly across tenancy, neighbourhood or estate services
Proven experience managing frontline housing teams
A visible and approachable leadership style
The ability to support, coach and develop officers, while also holding people accountable
Confidence dealing with performance, behaviours and difficult conversations
A solid understanding of estate management and communal services
Experience managing contractors and service standards
The ability to come into an established service, build relationships quickly and hit the ground runningThis isn't a role for someone looking for their first step into management. They need an experienced manager who can provide the team with support, structure and leadership from day one.
Importantly, this is a 5-day-a-week site-based role.
They want their manager to be present and available to the team, understand what is happening operationally and be willing to get out onto the estates when needed.
If you're an experienced Housing, Neighbourhood or Estate Services Manager looking for your next interim assignment, I'd love to have a conversation.
