Network and Pricing Manager – European Road Freight
Location: UK-Based (Hybrid – occasional travel to Midlands)
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000
The Opportunity
A growing European freight forwarding business is creating a brand-new role for a Pricing & Supplier Manager to strengthen its commercial capability.
This is a unique opportunity for someone with a strong network of European hauliers and suppliers to step into a role focused purely on pricing, procurement, and relationship building - with no sales targets, no commission pressure, and no operational workload.
You’ll play a key role in improving competitiveness, increasing win rates, and supporting sustainable margin growth across the business.
The Role
Working closely with sales and operations teams, you will be responsible for sourcing the best possible rates and transport solutions across UK and European markets.
This role sits firmly within procurement, meaning:
Sales teams generate opportunities
You source the best pricing and suppliers
Operations deliver the service
You will become the go-to person for pricing strategy, supplier relationships, and market intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Source competitive rates from a trusted network of hauliers and carriers
Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships across Europe
Provide pricing solutions for full load, part load, and express movements
Prioritise urgent spot quotes while managing longer-term pricing requests
Work closely with sales teams to improve quote success rates and margins
Support customer visits alongside commercial teams where required
Continuously develop and strengthen the supplier network
Monitor market trends, capacity, and pricing fluctuations
Collaborate with operations to ensure service levels align with pricing strategy
About You
Experience within European road freight forwarding (operations, pricing, or sales)
A strong existing network (“black book”) of hauliers and suppliers
Deep understanding of full load movements across Europe, Scandinavia, and Eastern Europe
Strong negotiation skills and commercial awareness
Ability to identify the right supplier for each job quickly and effectively
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Computer literate with experience using transport or pricing systems
