The Opportunity
An exciting role has opened for a Product Innovation Technologist specialising in cake development. This position sits within a collaborative development team and is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys baking and experimenting with new ideas.
What You'll Be Doing
Take ownership of new product concepts, guiding them from early-stage ideas through trials, refinement, and final launch across multiple channels
Work hands-on in a development kitchen, producing samples, organising taste panels, and reviewing competitor products
Partner with cross-functional teams including brand, digital, category, and international colleagues to deliver successful product launches
Stay ahead of emerging bakery trends by attending industry events, reviewing market activity, and engaging with suppliers
Translate insights into practical product ideas that shape future ranges
What You'll Bring
A degree in Food Science (or similar experience), along with a solid understanding of food principles and a genuine enthusiasm for baking
A creative mindset with the ability to adapt quickly and approach challenges with a positive, solutions-focused attitude
Strong organisational skills, confidence sharing ideas, and comfort working with data and digital tools
A proactive approach with the ability to contribute both independently and within a team environment
Additional Information
This role requires travel between sites, including a head office in Leeds, a production facility, and occasional external meetings, so flexibility and the ability to commute are essential
