Night Shift Supervisor

Location: Sunderland
Salary: £38,000 per annum
Hours: 20:00 – 04:00, Sunday to Thursday
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

The Opportunity:

An established transport and logistics business is looking for an experienced Night Shift Supervisor to join its warehouse operation in Sunderland.

This is a hands-on supervisory position with responsibility for overseeing the night shift operation, ensuring all picking and dispatch activity is completed safely, accurately and efficiently.

You will supervise a team of approximately 10 shunters per night, coordinating workload and ensuring the operation is prepared for the following day's transport activity.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supervise and coordinate the night shift warehouse operation.

* Manage and support a team of approximately 10 shunters.

* Oversee all picking and dispatch activity throughout the shift.

* Allocate workloads and ensure daily operational requirements are achieved.

* Ensure goods are picked, prepared and dispatched accurately and on time.

* Monitor productivity and address operational issues or delays.

* Maintain high standards of health & safety and operational compliance.

* Ensure an effective handover between shifts.

* Support the wider transport and warehouse operation where required.

About You:

We are looking for someone with previous supervisory or team leadership experience within a warehouse, distribution, transport or logistics environment.

You should be comfortable managing people in a fast-paced operation and taking ownership of the shift.

Experience within picking, dispatch, loading or warehouse operations would be particularly beneficial.

You will ideally have:

* Previous experience as a Warehouse Supervisor, Night Shift Supervisor, Shift Manager or Team Leader.

* Experience managing warehouse or logistics operatives.

* A strong understanding of picking and dispatch operations.

* Good organisational and communication skills.

* The ability to manage workloads and operational priorities.

* A hands-on approach to leadership.

* A strong awareness of health & safety within a warehouse environment.
