Nursery Assistant - Bank staff

Maria Poppins Nursery and Preschool is looking to recruit a reliable and enthusiastic Bank Staff Nursery Assistant to join our friendly team in Lewisham. This is a flexible, zero-hours position, ideal for someone who is passionate about working with children and is looking for adaptable working days to suit their availability. About the Role As a Bank Nursery Assistant, you will support the day-to-day running of the nursery and help provide a safe, caring, and stimulating environment for children, in line with the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Key Responsibilities * Support the care, learning, and development of children aged 0–5 years * Assist with planning and delivering age-appropriate activities * Help maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing environment * Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and nursery policies at all times * Work collaboratively with the team to maintain high standards of care * Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues Requirements * Previous experience working in a nursery or early years setting (preferred) * A relevant childcare qualification (desirable but not essential) * Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection * Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude * Flexible, reliable, and able to work as part of a team What We Offer * A supportive and welcoming team environment * Flexible working arrangements * Opportunity to gain further Early Years experience * Ongoing support and guidance
