Nursery Practitioner / Room Leader - Early Years Setting Salary: Competitive monthly salary (dependent on experience) Start Date: 23rd March 2026 Location: Upton (Wirral) Salary: £92 - £100 per day Contract: Full-time, Temp-to-Perm Opportunity We are recruiting a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner / Room Leader to join a well-established early years setting in the Upton area from 23rd March 2026. This is a full-time position with strong potential to secure a permanent contract for the right candidate. This role is ideal for an experienced early years professional who enjoys supporting young children's development while taking on additional responsibility within a nursery room environment. The role As a Nursery Practitioner / Room Leader, you will support the delivery of high-quality early years provision in line with the EYFS framework. You will help create a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment where children can explore, develop socially and emotionally, and build early learning foundations. As a Room Leader, you will also provide guidance to colleagues within your designated room and ensure high standards of care and educational provision are consistently maintained. Responsibilities Delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS framework Supporting children's social, emotional and early academic development Monitoring progress and contributing to observations and assessments Maintaining a safe, organised and stimulating learning environment Supporting daily routines, care and safeguarding procedures Working collaboratively with colleagues and families Leading or supporting room-based planning and organisation (Room Leader level) The ideal candidate Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years / Childcare (or equivalent) - essential Experience working within a nursery or early years setting Strong understanding of the EYFS framework Warm, patient and nurturing approach Confident supporting children's development and wellbeing For Room Leader level: ability to support and guide other staff Good understanding of safeguarding procedures What's on offer Competitive salary depending on experience Full-time, stable position Supportive and welcoming nursery environment Opportunity to develop professionally within early years leadership Safeguarding All applicants will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and full safeguarding procedures.
