Nursery Teacher
Nursery Teacher Location: Islington, London, UK Salary: £180 – £300 per day Job Type: Full Time, Temporary (Long Term) Start Date: 13 April 2026 Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary applies to candidates with substantial teaching experience. Teach Now is working with a vibrant, inclusive Church of England primary school in Islington, just a short walk from Old Street. Serving a diverse inner-London community, the school has a strong values-driven ethos and a nurturing Early Years provision where children are supported to flourish academically, socially and spiritually through a creative and engaging curriculum. We are seeking an experienced Nursery Teacher to lead teaching in a 3–4 year old setting. From April, the class will consist of 25 children (a mix of 15- and 30-hour placements), supported by a full-time nursery nurse. This is a long-term opportunity for a committed Early Years specialist. Age Range: 3–4 year olds (Nursery) Class Size: 25 children (from April), supported by a full-time nursery nurse Process: Shortlisted candidates will be invited to deliver a trial lesson Requirements • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Recent experience teaching in EYFS, ideally with 3–4 year olds • Strong understanding of the EYFS framework and play-based learning approaches • Experience working with mixed nursery cohorts (15 and 30-hour placements) • Ability to work effectively with support staff and communicate with parents • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion and the school’s Christian values Key Responsibilities • Lead teaching and learning within a 3–4 year old nursery class • Plan and deliver high-quality, play-based learning aligned with the EYFS framework • Support children’s development across communication, language, personal, social, emotional and early literacy/numeracy • Use observational assessment to inform planning and ensure progress for all learners • Work closely with the EYFS Phase Lead, nursery nurse and wider staff team • Build strong relationships with parents and carers, supporting effective home–school communication Benefits • Competitive daily rate (£180–£300) • Opportunity to work in a well-established and nurturing Early Years setting • Supportive leadership and collaborative staff team • Strong focus on professional development and reflective practice • Long-term opportunity within a values-driven school Why work via Teach Now?
