Operations Analyst/Business Analyst About the Role An organisation is looking to further establish its growing operations function by selecting a driven Operationa Analyst to support the execution of the company’s operations strategy. The new team member will be great with people, creative at identifying technical solutions, and demonstrate an end-to-end “starter-finisher” mentality, reflecting a personal commitment to improving operational performance. Key Responsibilities * Proactively and enthusiastically support internal stakeholders/business functions (e.g., compliance, lending teams, servicing) to analyse and deliver operational improvements to systems, processes, and procedures. * Manage projects and workstreams to support the delivery of key operational objectives. * Apply good governance practices, including record-keeping and change logs, and support audit activity where necessary. * Facilitate the implementation and delivery of rules and tools to ensure compliance with company policies. * Encourage consideration of customer and intermediary experience when designing and delivering operational solutions. Key Competencies * Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to create and update calculator models and perform moderately complex analysis. * Aptitude for, or willingness to learn with guidance, system coding (such as JSON, SQL, HTML, or similar). Configuration of business systems is a key part of the role, including changes to fields, calculators, system product parameters, document templates, and API datapoints. * Ability to analyse processes and data and make recommendations based on findings. * Experience with Power BI or similar business analytics tools. * Ability to organise and assess a range of issues to prioritise tasks effectively. * Strong communication skills and confidence in raising challenges as well as reporting progress. Beneficial Experience (Not Essential) * Project and change management. * Testing experience (e.g., user acceptance testing). * Experience with lending products such as mortgages, bridging finance, or development finance. * Working with loan platform providers or automated decision platforms. * Ability to apply logical rules when creating characteristics in loan decision engines and understanding logic for lending decision characteristics. * Delivering guidance or training to system users following the implementation of changes. Example Performance Measures * Process improvement initiatives identified and delivered. * Cost savings achieved through operational improvements. * Loan processing turnaround times (e.g., application to approval, drawdown to servicing). * Completion of process reviews. * Implementation of new tools or platforms. * Staff training sessions delivered on new processes. * Feedback from colleagues and internal stakeholders
