The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Brighouse.
With a long and successful history in the engineering sector, the business has built an excellent reputation for quality, technical expertise and customer service, supplying specialist engineered components to customers across the UK and internationally.
This is a key leadership position, ideally suited to an established Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager or similar senior operational professional with a proven track record of success within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
The Role
Taking responsibility for the day-to-day operational performance of the business, you will work closely with the owners and management team to ensure production, quality, delivery, people and commercial performance are consistently maintained and improved.
This is a hands-on role requiring a visible and approachable leader who can drive operational improvements, improve on-time delivery, increase productivity and efficiency, reduce production lead times and develop a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
You will lead and develop production and engineering teams, manage capacity and workflow, monitor operational KPIs, identify and resolve production bottlenecks, and ensure customer requirements are consistently met. You will also work closely with quality, planning, purchasing and suppliers to improve performance, maintain standards and ensure resources are available when required.
The role will involve establishing clear performance measures, improving production planning and scheduling, and ensuring high standards of quality, health and safety and operational efficiency.
About You
You will have proven experience in a senior operational management role within an engineering or manufacturing environment, ideally with a strong understanding of precision engineering and manufacturing processes.
You will have a demonstrable track record of delivering measurable improvements in operational performance, alongside experience managing production and engineering teams, improving productivity and using KPIs to drive results.
Strong leadership, commercial awareness, problem-solving and decision-making skills are essential, together with a practical, hands-on management style and the confidence to take ownership and be accountable for results.
The successful candidate will be someone who can demonstrate what they have achieved, rather than simply describe their responsibilities.
