Apply NowWe are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Peterlee for an experienced Operations Manager to oversee manufacturing operations. This is a hands-on role focused on ensuring production runs efficiently, targets are met, and high standards of quality and safety are maintained.
Responsibilities
* Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved
* Plan and coordinate workloads, resources, and schedules to support efficient production
* Lead and manage supervisors and shop floor teams, ensuring performance standards are met
* Monitor production output, quality, and efficiency, taking action where required
* Identify and implement improvements to processes, productivity, and workflow
* Work closely with internal departments to ensure smooth coordination from design through to delivery
* Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety and quality standards
* Act as a point of contact for customers, providing updates and resolving operational issues
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across production
Requirements
* Previous experience in an Operations Manager or similar role within manufacturing
* Strong understanding of production processes, planning, and scheduling
* Experience working with pressed metal is essential
* Experience managing teams within a fast-paced environment
* Ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple projects effectively
* Hands-on approach with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with both internal teams and customers
* Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and performance
