Parts Manager

Salary: £33,000 – £35,000 per annum
Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organised Parts Manager to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with a strong background in parts management, stock control and supplier relationships to take responsibility for the efficient procurement, storage and distribution of parts and materials.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the timely availability of parts to support vehicle builds, refurbishments, maintenance and repair operations.

Key Responsibilities

* Source, order, receive and maintain stock levels of parts and materials.

* Manage parts requirements for vehicle builds, refurbishments, maintenance and repairs.

* Oversee shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation and timely processing.

* Issue parts to jobs accurately and efficiently.

* Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure effective stock control.

* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, materials handling and supply chain workflows.

* Track and process warranty claims and supplier returns.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.

* Negotiate pricing and terms where appropriate and monitor supplier performance.

* Maintain the parts management software, ensuring records and information are kept accurate and up to date.

* Work closely with internal teams to ensure parts are available when required and operational requirements are met.

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

* Proven experience working within a parts environment, ideally in an automotive, commercial vehicle, engineering or similar setting.

* Strong knowledge of parts procurement, stock control and inventory management.

* Excellent organisational skills and a methodical approach to work.

* A keen eye for detail, particularly when dealing with inventory and documentation.

* Good communication and supplier relationship management skills.

* The ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively in a busy operational environment.

* Experience using parts or inventory management software.

* A proactive approach to identifying and improving processes.
