Job Title: Pastoral Support Manager
Location: Hillingdon, Uxbridge, London, UK
Salary: £37,870 – £56,154 per annum
Job Type: Full Time | Temporary | Long Term
Start Date: 01 June 2026
Salary will be determined based on experience and position on the Main Pay Range. The maximum salary is applicable to candidates with substantial teaching experience equivalent to U3.

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Pastoral Support Manager / Head of Year Support to join a welcoming secondary school in Uxbridge this June.

This is a non-teaching role focused on behaviour, wellbeing, and pastoral care of a designated year group, with some lesson cover required. You will play a key role in supporting students to succeed both academically and personally.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead behaviour management and pastoral support for a year group
• Respond to incidents using restorative and sanction-based approaches
• Build positive relationships with students to support engagement
• Monitor attendance and liaise with families and external agencies
• Provide classroom supervision and cover lessons when needed
• Support safeguarding and targeted interventions

Requirements
• Mandatory: Experience working with challenging students
• Experience working with young people (school or similar setting)
• Strong behaviour management and ability to stay calm under pressure
• Confidence supervising classes
• Excellent communication and a proactive approach
• Commitment to supporting students with a range of needs, including SEN
