Payroll Assistant

Location: Sunderland College – Bede Campus
Contract: Temporary Assignment
Hours: Full Time (37 hours per week)
Duration: Immediate Start – End of August 2026

The Supply Register is currently recruiting for a Payroll Assistant to support the payroll team at Sunderland College's Bede Campus. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and detail-oriented administrator looking to gain valuable experience within a busy and supportive education environment.

Starting as soon as possible, this full-time temporary assignment will run until the end of August and will play a key role in supporting payroll operations during a busy period.

The Role

As a Payroll Assistant, you will provide administrative support to the payroll function, ensuring employee records and payroll information are processed accurately and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

Assisting with the preparation and processing of payroll information

Maintaining accurate employee records and payroll data

Supporting payroll queries from employees and managers

Processing timesheets and payroll-related documentation

Ensuring data is entered accurately and in a timely manner

Assisting with general administrative duties within the payroll team

Supporting compliance with payroll procedures and regulations

What We're Looking For

Essential:

Previous administrative experience

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications

Excellent organisational and communication skills

Ability to handle confidential information professionally

A reliable and proactive approach to work

Desirable:

Previous payroll experience

Experience working with payroll systems

Experience working within education or public sector environments
