Payroll Senior
Location: Ipswich
Working Pattern: Part-time or Full-time (3–5 days per week)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Senior to join a well-established and highly respected professional services organisation. This role is ideal for a payroll professional looking to take ownership of their own client portfolio while playing a key role in supporting and developing colleagues within a collaborative team environment.
You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality payroll service to a diverse client portfolio, ensuring accuracy, compliance and excellent client care at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end payroll process for a portfolio of clients.
Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time, including pensions, statutory payments and auto-enrolment compliance.
Act as a key point of contact for clients, HMRC and third-party providers.
Manage client expectations and build strong working relationships.
Provide guidance on payroll legislation and system-related queries.
Assist with training and development across the wider payroll team.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency.
Maintain accurate payroll records and produce ad-hoc reports when required.
Support the Payroll Manager with projects and day-to-day team activities. About You:
Minimum 2 years’ payroll experience, ideally within a bureau or outsourced payroll environment.
Strong end-to-end payroll processing knowledge.
Experience with pensions, benefits, statutory payments and auto-enrolment.
Ability to manually calculate payroll when required.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
