People Data & Payroll Analyst
As part of a supportive People and Culture team, you will play a key role in ensuring payroll and People data are maintained to a high standard, reports are produced accurately and on time, and stakeholders have access to meaningful insights to support decision-making. The role combines hands-on payroll processing with data analysis and systems-driven reporting, contributing to continuous improvement and future People and payroll system integration.

Responsibilities:
• Deliver accurate, timely monthly payroll processing, ensuring compliance with legislation and internal controls.
• Collate, validate, and reconcile payroll inputs including starters, leavers, changes, overtime, benefits, and time & attendance data.
• Ensure correct submissions and payments to colleagues, HMRC, pension providers, and third parties, including year-end returns.
• Own People and payroll data, maintaining accuracy and consistency across systems.
• Produce regular People and payroll reports (e.g., headcount, turnover, absence, costs) and ad-hoc analysis.
• Provide clear data and insights to People & Culture, Finance, and stakeholders to support decision-making.
• Use HR and payroll systems to extract and present data for operational and senior reporting.
• Identify and support process improvements, reducing manual effort through systems, Excel, and automation.
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
• Proven experience in payroll processing for a minimum of 2 years.
• Strong experience working with People and payroll data, reporting, and analysis.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail, particularly in payroll and financial data.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data sets, reports, and reconciliations.
• Good understanding of payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and GDPR.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to fixed deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain data clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable:
• Experience working with integrated HR and payroll systems.
• Experience supporting HR or payroll system implementation or process improvement projects.
• Knowledge of People metrics and workforce reporting in a multi-site or operational environment.
