Planning Engineer (CNC)
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong understanding of CNC machining who enjoys creating manufacturing documentation and ensuring jobs are planned efficiently from start to finish.
The Role
As a Planning Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the flow of work through the business by creating accurate manufacturing documentation and working closely with Engineering, Production and Quality teams.
Responsibilities:
* Create manufacturing routings and job packs for CNC machined components.
* Produce clear and accurate process documentation for production.
* Support the Engineering team with manufacturing planning and technical queries.
* Liaise with CNC programmers and production to ensure efficient workflows.
* Assist with new product introduction (NPI) and continuous process improvements.
* Maintain manufacturing data, BOMs and routing information.
* Ensure documentation meets aerospace quality requirements.
The Ideal Candidate
* Previous experience as a Planning Engineer, Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer within precision engineering.
* Good knowledge of CNC machining processes, including milling and turning.
* Experience creating routings, job packs and manufacturing documentation.
* Able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Experience within an aerospace or AS9100 manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous.
* Experience using ERP/MRP systems is beneficial.
