Plant Workshop Engineer

A Workshop Plant Service Engineer is responsible for inspecting, servicing, repairing, and rebuilding plant and heavy equipment within a workshop environment. The role ensures machinery is maintained to manufacturer standards and ready for safe operation or rental. Key Responsibilities * Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on plant equipment in the workshop. * Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults. * Carry out strip-downs, rebuilds, and component replacements. * Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) before equipment is sent to customers or job sites. * Use diagnostic equipment and manufacturer software to identify faults. * Replace parts such as: * Hydraulic pumps and hoses * Bearings and seals * Filters and belts * Sensors and electrical components * Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance records. * Follow health and safety procedures and workshop standards. * Assist with equipment testing and quality checks after repairs.
