🔧 About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Plumber to join a facilities maintenance team based at HMP Woking.
This is a varied role combining planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs, where you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of plumbing and water systems across the site.
🔧 Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on plumbing systems
*
Respond quickly to reactive maintenance issues and breakdowns
*
Maintain and repair hot & cold domestic water systems
*
Work on pipework, valves, and sanitary systems
*
Diagnose and fix leaks, blockages, and general plumbing faults
*
Maintain toilets, sinks, showers, and drainage systems
*
Monitor and uphold water hygiene standards
*
Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations
*
Accurately complete job reports and maintenance records
*
Work safely within a secure environment
✅ Requirements
*
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent)
*
Proven experience in PPM and reactive maintenance
*
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
*
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
*
Good communication skills
*
Must be eligible for enhanced security clearance
Desirable:
*
Experience in custodial, MOD, or healthcare environments
