Pre-school Room Lead/Early Years Practitoner

We are a well-established small nursery chain with over 20 years’ experience where we promise to care about each child with the same love and support they receive at home.
Due to an increase in demand our nursery in Balderton Nursery is seeking a Pre-school Leader. We are ideally seeking someone with drive and passion to create an environment where all children flourish emotionally to ensure that they get the best possible start to their life and learning. We care as much about our staff as we do our children and aspire to grow our nursery, and our staff will grow with it.
We are looking for a qualified and experienced Pre-school Leader.
* You will be responsible for making sure that all children remain safe and that their welfare is promoted, particularly taking account of the current Covid guidance.
* You will lead and manage a small team of staff which will include planning and delivering highly effective educational programmes to ensure that children make rapid progress towards the Early Learning Goals.
* You will support the manager and deputy and the senior management team in keeping abreast of issues within the Early Years sector and be pro-active in making contributions which help to maintain exceptionally high standards of care and education.
* You will be responsible for leading, managing and motivating the baby room staff-team, ensuring that work-load is shared, that they feel valued and are happy in their work.
* You will be a key-person to a group of children and will also support the other key-persons in assessing and monitoring children’s developmental progress and their overall well-being.

Qualifications:
* You must hold a recognised Level 3 Childcare qualification (NVQ 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development)
Skills and experience:
* A secure understanding of child development and how children learn.
* A sound knowledge of the statutory framework for the EYFS.
* An ability to plan and prepare exciting and challenging activities for individual children and for groups of children; to promote their learning
* Ability to plan and organise in a busy environment.
* Good written and verbal skills - for report writing, maintaining written records and sharing information with parents, colleagues and other relevant professionals.
* An understanding of and commitment to equal opportunities
* Current DBS on update service is an advantage
