Up to £17.38 per hour | 4-Day Working Week | Permanent
Are you an experienced Machine Operator with a background in sheet metal fabrication? Do you enjoy working with precision, quality and modern machinery? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
We're recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer of bespoke power generation solutions. Due to continued growth, they're looking for a skilled Machine Operator to join their Prep Team, preparing metal components for fabrication and paint.
The Role
Working within a busy manufacturing environment, you'll operate a variety of metalworking machinery while ensuring all work meets high quality and safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Operating guillotines, press brakes, CNC plasma cutters and band saws.
* Reading and interpreting 2D technical drawings to calculate cut sizes.
* Setting up and adjusting machinery to meet production requirements.
* Loading and unloading materials safely and efficiently.
* Carrying out routine machine maintenance and safety checks.
* Inspecting completed components to ensure they meet specification.
* Completing production paperwork and quality records.
* Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment.
* Following all health and safety procedures and wearing appropriate PPE.
What we're looking for
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
* Previous experience operating guillotines, press brakes, CNC plasma cutters and/or band saws.
* The ability to read and interpret 2D engineering drawings.
* Experience within sheet metal fabrication or a manufacturing environment.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
* The ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
* A good level of physical fitness for a hands-on role involving lifting, carrying and standing for extended periods.
Working Hours
* 40 hours per week
* Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 4:00pm
* Friday: 7:00am – 1:00pm
