A rewarding Upper KS2 teaching role within a specialist Autism provision. Small classes of just 8 pupils, strong staff support and the chance to make a real difference helping pupils with ASD build confidence, engagement and independence in learning. A Role Where Teaching Feels Meaningful This specialist provision supports pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) who benefit from a structured, calm and highly supportive learning environment. With small classes and high staffing levels, teachers are able to focus on what matters most - building relationships, unlocking potential and helping pupils rediscover confidence in learning. For many pupils, this setting becomes the place where school finally starts to work for them. Unlike mainstream classrooms, teachers here benefit from: • Small classes of just 8 pupils • Strong staff-to-pupil ratios with experienced support staff • The ability to deliver personalised learning • A collaborative team focused on pupil progress and wellbeing • The opportunity to see genuine progress in pupils’ confidence and engagement Teachers are encouraged to use creative teaching approaches, clear routines and structured support to help pupils thrive. The Upper KS2 pupils supported in this provision typically have: • Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) • Moderate learning difficulties • Communication or sensory needs Many pupils benefit from predictable routines, personalised teaching and strong relationships with staff. Seeing pupils grow in confidence and reconnect with learning is one of the most rewarding parts of the role. As the class teacher, you will: • Deliver engaging Upper KS2 lessons adapted to individual learning needs • Plan learning around EHCP outcomes and personalised targets • Create a classroom environment that is structured, calm and supportive • Work closely with LSAs, therapists and specialist staff • Monitor pupil progress and contribute to EHCP reviews • Build strong relationships with pupils, families and professionals Your teaching will support pupils not only academically but also in confidence, communication and independence. This role would suit a teacher who: • Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) • Has experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEND or Autism • Enjoys building relationships and supporting individual progress • Works well as part of a collaborative and supportive team Teachers from mainstream primary schools, SEN units, autism provisions or special schools are encouraged to apply
