Are you an Early Career Teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with SEN?

Not quite sure where you fit best yet? Mainstream? Specialist?

Or maybe you want to build confidence across different settings before settling into your forever school?

If that sounds like you, keep reading

At Supply Desk, we know that those first steps into teaching really matter especially if your experience and passion lie within SEN. That’s why we work closely with schools across West Sussex to help ECTs like you gain meaningful, varied experience in supportive environments where you can truly make an impact.

We’re currently looking for ECTs with SEN experience to join us from the September term, starting on a flexible supply basis with the goal of helping you find the right long-term or permanent role when you’re ready.

Why join Supply Desk?

We do things a bit differently.

You’re not just a name on a list – we actually take the time to get to know you, your strengths, and the kind of settings where you thrive

SEN-focused placements – whether your experience is in ASD, SEMH, speech & language, or complex needs, we’ll match you carefully

Build confidence your way – want to try a specialist school? Ease into a mainstream setting with SEN support? You’re in control

Flexibility that works for you – update your availability weekly and fit work around your life

Free CPD opportunities – from behaviour strategies to SEN-specific training, we’ll help you keep growing

What you’ll be doing:

Stepping into classrooms and supporting pupils when their usual teacher is away

Delivering pre-planned lessons (with support where needed!)

Creating a calm, inclusive environment where every child feels supported

Following each school’s behaviour and safeguarding policies

Leaving clear handover notes so the class teacher can pick up seamlessly

✨ Who we’re looking for:

Early Career Teachers (or soon-to-be qualified!)

Experience working with pupils with SEN in any setting (placements absolutely count!)

A positive, adaptable attitude and a genuine passion for inclusive education

Someone who’s open to learning, growing, and finding their place in teaching

Whether you already know SEN is your long-term path, or you’re still exploring where you shine best, we’d love to support you on that journey.

Apply today and let’s start finding the right classroom for you.
