Principal Sustainability Consultant - remote (UK) £60,000 – £70,000 per annum About the Role We are recruiting on behalf of a growing consultancy seeking a Principal Sustainability Consultant to join their expanding Sustainability and Building Performance team. This senior-level position is ideal for a professional with strong expertise in building performance modelling, energy compliance, and environmental analysis, combined with proven leadership and client-facing experience. In this role, you will take the lead on delivering sustainability strategies across a wide range of development projects. You will oversee project delivery, mentor consultants within the team, and play a key role in supporting client relationships and business growth. Although this position is fully remote, candidates must be based in the UK. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of sustainability and building performance services across multiple projects Manage and mentor sustainability consultants, supporting the development of junior team members Carry out advanced building performance analysis, including dynamic simulation modelling Lead complex sustainability assessments and ensure projects are delivered successfully Provide strategic and technical guidance to support client objectives Contribute to business development, including preparing fee proposals and engaging with clientsTechnical Responsibilities Dynamic simulation modelling using IES VE Overheating assessments in accordance with CIBSE TM59, TM52, Part O and BB101 Operational energy modelling (TM54) Part L compliance using SBEM (L2A and L2B) and EPC production Daylight and planning analysis Low and zero carbon feasibility studies Heating and cooling load calculations BREEAM assessments, including credits such as ENE01, ENE04, HEA01, and HEA04Leadership & Business Responsibilities Lead and mentor sustainability consultants within the team Support recruitment and hiring processes Deliver internal knowledge-sharing presentations Assist with financial planning, fee forecasting, and project profitability Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationshipsRequirements Degree in Sustainability, Building Physics, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline Extensive experience in building performance modelling and sustainability consultancy Strong proficiency with IES VE and SBEM Solid understanding of UK building regulations and sustainability frameworks Experience managing projects and mentoring team members Excellent communication and client engagement skillsBenefits Fully remote working within the UK Competitive salary (£60,000 – £65,000) Opportunity to work on complex, high-profile development projects Career progression within a growing sustainability team Ongoing professional development supportIf you are interested in this Principal Sustainability Consultant opportunity, please apply now or contact Callum at Aztrum for a confidential discussion.
