We’re supporting a leading UK Defence organisation in the recruitment of a Production Controller to join their Production Control & Planning team.
This is a key role ensuring production runs smoothly from order entry through to final dispatch, working closely with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-precision environment.
The Role
As a Production Controller, you will be responsible for:
* Managing production jobs through an ERP/MRP system
* Monitoring material availability to ensure production schedules are achievable
* Coordinating kitting and ensuring production readiness
* Working closely with supply chain and stores teams to resolve shortages
* Supporting manufacturing and engineering teams with production issues
* Ensuring customer delivery dates are met
* Contributing to continuous improvement across production processes
* Supporting post-production and order fulfilment activities
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with:
* Experience using ERP or MRP systems in a manufacturing environment
* Background in production planning, material control, or supply chain coordination
* Strong understanding of works orders, production scheduling, or job management
* Excellent organisational and communication skills
* Ability to work with multiple stakeholders across operations and engineering
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
Desirable:
* Advanced Excel skills (reporting, analysis, KPI tracking)
* Experience in a regulated or high-precision manufacturing environment
