Production Manager
Our client is a leading manufacturer, supplying high quality engineered compoinents to a wide range of industries.
The main purpose of the role is to oversee day‑to‑day operations, drive performance and ensure manufacturing output meets the highest standards.
This is a hands‑on leadership role where previous experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily production activities, ensuring output targets, quality standards and delivery deadlines are consistently met
*
Lead, motivate and develop production teams, promoting a positive and high‑performance culture
*
Plan and allocate workloads, ensuring efficient use of labour, machinery and materials
*
Monitor production KPIs and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
*
Ensure all manufacturing processes comply with health & safety regulations and company policies
*
Work closely with Quality, Engineering and Planning teams to resolve issues and optimise workflow
*
Manage staffing levels, training needs and performance reviews within the production department
*
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes, equipment and working practices
*
Oversee maintenance schedules and ensure machinery is operating safely and effectively
*
Support senior management with reporting, forecasting and operational planning
Skills & Experience Required:
*
Proven experience in a Production Manager, Works Manager or similar leadership role
*
Strong background in engineering or manufacturing (essential)
*
Excellent people management skills with the ability to lead and develop teams
*
Solid understanding of production planning, workflow and process optimisation
*
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, 5S or other continuous improvement methods (advantageous)
*
Strong problem‑solving skills and a proactive, hands‑on approach
*
Confident communicator able to work cross‑functionally and influence at all levels
