Production Operative

We’re looking for passionate and creative individuals with hands-on experience to join the team in Stockport, SK12! Our client specialises in high-quality, handmade home furnishings, and we're excited to bring on someone who has a keen interest in craftsmanship and experience using hand tools, such as band saws, to help bring their products to life. Mon-Thurs: 07.30-16.30 Fridays: 07.30-14.00 (Early finish!) Role & Responsibilities: * Cutting wood to size using hand tools, including band saws. * Creating rustic effects on wood by burning it. * Using various hand tools and equipment with professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong focus on safety. * Applying painting techniques to achieve various effects and styles on products. * Starting on the resin board station to gain foundational knowledge, before rotating to other sections to develop multi-skill proficiency. Key areas you will work on and learn: * Resin board preparation * Scorching wood with a scorch gun to create a ‘burnt’ effect * Using hand tools such as band saws to cut wood * Basic electronic assembly * Attaching glass to the back of displays * Working on MDF frames and applying finishes such as "wood," "matte PVC," and "marble effect" Benefits: * Team performance bonus * Overtime pay (Time + 1/3) * Early finish Fridays * Entry-level creative career with opportunities for growth * Supportive and cheerful work environment Requirements: * Previous experience using hand tools, particularly band saws, is essential. * Ability to get to SK12 either by car or public transport for the required start time (please check before applying). * Eager and willing to learn, with a hands-on attitude. * Previous experience in a similar field would be beneficial.
