Production Operative (NBR)
Job Role
The Production Operative will be responsible for operating and monitoring plant equipment used in cleaning, sorting, grading, and handling processes. Working within a fast-paced production environment, you will ensure product quality, maximise efficiency, and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
This role is ideal for a technically capable individual with experience in food or grain processing who thrives in a hands-on operational setting.
Responsibilities
* Operate and monitor plant machinery for cleaning, sorting, grading, and handling processes.
* Optimise machine settings to achieve required quality standards and production targets.
* Monitor product quality, ensuring removal of impurities and substandard materials.
* Conduct routine quality checks on both incoming and finished products.
* Minimise product loss and reduce rejection levels through effective process control.
* Perform basic troubleshooting and coordinate with maintenance teams for technical issues.
* Maintain accurate production, quality, and traceability records.
* Ensure compliance with HACCP, GMP, and EU food safety regulations.
* Follow all health & safety procedures and company policies at all times.
* Work collaboratively with production and quality teams to ensure smooth operations.
Personal Profile
* Technical qualification (Diploma or vocational training in Mechanical, Electrical, or Food Processing).
* 2–5 years’ experience in food processing environments.
* Experience with cleaning, grading, and optical colour sorting equipment (e.g. Sortex) is highly desirable.
* Strong technical aptitude with the ability to operate automated machinery.
* High attention to detail with a strong focus on product quality.
* Problem-solving ability for basic equipment and process issues.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to work shifts in a production environment.
* Basic English communication skills required (Dutch is an advantage).
