Production Planner

Production Planner Location: Huddersfield Employment Type: Full‑time We’re working with a Huddersfield‑based engineering company that designs and manufactures bespoke products for high‑integrity industries across the UK and Europe. They’re looking for a proactive Production Planner to coordinate workflow across machining, fitting, finishing, and testing, ensuring jobs move through the factory efficiently, accurately, and on time. What you’ll be doing * Planning and scheduling work across machining, fitting, finishing, and testing * Reviewing drawings and production files to determine the most efficient manufacturing route * Estimating time requirements for individual jobs and components * Identifying special tooling, processes, or subcontract requirements * Monitoring capacity and machine loading, highlighting bottlenecks and coordinating with Production Supervisors and the Production Manager * Allocating stock parts to works orders and checking availability through Sage 200 * Producing sawing lists and issuing instructions to materials/saw operators * Supporting continuous improvement across planning and workflow processes What we’re looking for * Experience in production planning, machine shop planning, or a precision engineering environment * Strong understanding of machining and workshop processes * Ability to interpret engineering drawings confidently * IT literate — comfortable using Word, Excel, and Sage 200 * Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail * A proactive mindset with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement * Awareness of quality, health & safety, and environmental standards (ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001)  If you’re a detail‑driven planner who thrives in a fast‑paced engineering environment and enjoys coordinating complex manufacturing workflows, we’d love to hear from you
