Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor Manufacturing Salary up to £40k DOE We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Supervisor to join a well-established and growing engineering business within the laser and manufacturing sector. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and Operations Manager, this is a key role responsible for overseeing day-to-day production operations, supporting team performance, and ensuring delivery, quality, and cost objectives are consistently achieved. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on supervisor who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about continuous improvement and team development. The Role You will play a pivotal role in the day-to-day running of the production facilities, ensuring efficiency, quality, and strong team performance across the shop floor. Key responsibilities include: Supervising production operations to meet cost, delivery, and quality targets Supporting and guiding Team Leaders to maximise machine and plant uptime Overseeing the activities of the Progress Chaser to ensure smooth workflow Driving high standards of internal and external housekeeping Maintaining discipline and a productive working environment Ensuring machine tools are maintained in line with preventative maintenance procedures Supporting health and safety compliance across the production area Assisting in the training and development of setters and operators Contributing towards achieving overall sales output targets Key Objectives Support the achievement and maintenance of 95% delivery line clearance, including planning around holiday shutdown periods Assist in the development and upskilling of the production team, identifying gaps and supporting improvements Encourage strong collaboration between Team Leaders, Supervisors, and Production Control Support the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles Ensure adherence to ISO 9001:2015 standards and up-to-date documentation Participate in and contribute to workshop meetings to drive engagement and continuous improvement About You Experience in a Production Supervisor or Team Leader role within manufacturing or engineering Strong understanding of production processes and shop floor operations Experience supporting teams to achieve performance targets Knowledge of continuous improvement or lean manufacturing principles Awareness of ISO 9001 or similar quality standards Strong communication and organisational skills Hands-on, proactive approach with a focus on quality and efficiency What’s on Offer Opportunity to join a growing and established engineering business A key role with real influence on production performance and team development Supportive leadership and collaborative working environment Long-term career progression opportunities Interested?
