Profile Burner / Lumsden Grinder Operator
About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Profile Burner / Lumsden Grinder Operator to join our busy fabrication workshop. The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting and grinding steel plate components to precise engineering specifications. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong fabrication experience and a solid understanding of heavy steel processing. Key Responsibilities * Set up and operate oxy-fuel and/or plasma profile burning machines (CNC or manual) * Cut steel plate to engineering drawings and required tolerances * Operate Lumsden (rotary surface) grinding machines * Grind components to specified thickness and flatness * Carry out dimensional checks using measuring equipment * Maintain machinery and change consumables as required * Follow all health & safety procedures Requirements * Proven experience in profile burning and Lumsden grinding * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings * Experience working with thick carbon steel plate * Good understanding of tolerances and surface finishes * Strong attention to detail * Overhead crane experience (preferred but not essential) What We Offer * Competitive salary (DOE) * Overtime opportunities * Stable, long-term position * Supportive workshop environment * PPE provided If you are an experienced operator looking for a secure role within a growing company, we would like to hear from you
