Central Recruitment is working with a prominent national homelessness charity, whose work includes supporting and accommodating young people.

Our client is currently recruiting for three Progression Coaches (Waking Nights) to work in the Durham area at a service that provides supported accommodation for young people (aged 18+) to help them move on to their own independent accommodation.

* 37.5 hours per week (average)

* Monday - Sunday on a two week rolling rota of waking night shifts

* Shifts: 21:30 - 08:00 (requirement to work every other weekend)

* Temporary: approximately 3 months

* £14.24 per hour (£12.71 per hour, with £1.53 holiday pay)

Key responsibilities:

* Conduct welfare checks on all clients

* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all clients, following safeguarding and emergency procedures

* Provide personalised, flexible support, encouraging client involvement and participation

* Collaborate with external agencies adhering to data protection and information sharing protocols

* Carry out cleaning duties

* Cover reception, including answering phone calls

* Help maintain a safe, welcoming environment, and prepare accommodation for new clients

* Maintain clear, accurate records

* Manage the security of the building

What we’re looking for:

* Understanding of the needs of people facing homelessness, mental health challenges, substance misuse, or care system involvement

* Experience conducting welfare checks

* Ability to manage challenging behaviour and respond calmly in crisis situations

* Strong literacy, numeracy, and IT skills

* Ability to maintain professional boundaries and work collaboratively

Further requirements:

In order to register with Central Recruitment Services for temporary agency work, candidates must meet the following criteria:

* Current valid right to work in the UK

* Minimum 12 months’ of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years* (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise)

* A fully enhanced DBS either registered on the DBS update service or issued within the last 12 months, or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60)

* Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process
